October 4th, 2011 marks the release of Surreal Estate, our 13th official catalog piece.   FTNT013 is a 17-track collection of tribal-influenced spacey dance grooves, progressive footwork, modern electro funk, and UK-centric dubstep rhythms, composed by an anticipated cast of North American producers, carefully selected and mixed by Ana Sia. Exploring the atmospheric and ethereal, yet bass-heavy, funky and playfully musical, the Surreal DJ mix shows Ana Sia’s passion for music that works as well for the dance floor as it does the intimate listen. This exclusive collection contains bleeding-edge tracks from some of the finest production minds from both American coasts such as Sepalcure, Starkey, XI, Distal, Ghosts On Tape and DJG, as well as all the the up and comers from the Frite Nite crew.

We invite you to experience the Surreal Estate album in the mixed version by Ana Sia, you can stream for free on the Frite Nite Mixcloud below.  If you enjoy it you can purchase the mix here bundled with the 17 tracks unmixed for you to queue up in your own playlist or mix, or get your hands on the CD version for the whip — only available directly from us at Frite Nite.

Got this at a really good price from a buddy of mine. You'll be hearing alot of this on most of my new tunes. Such an incredible synth!

"The Roland Juno-6 is a 6-voice polyphonic synth and was the first in the Juno series of synthesizers released in 1982. It has digital oscillators with analog filters and it soon become a legend for its warm, full sound and lush analog chorus."

Hackman mix for Daily Street

Written by thirdandarmyst. Filed under Uncategorized. No comments.

Mixtape 008 sees Leeds based producer Hackman bring a strong 50 minutes of House vibes and a more than decent selection of unreleased gems (almost the entire mix)!

Hackman is best known for his work in the realms of UK Funky, having key releases on labels such as PTN, Shifting Peaks and Well Rounded. To anyone that is well read on the UK Funky and Bass Music scene that is taking over the UK at the moment, these labels should be ringing big alarm bells in your head. However, as time moves on we all move with it and it seems that Hackman has left the UK Funky movement to head into the world of House, and when listening to this mix I don’t feel that this is in any way a bad thing. It all seems to be being chucked under the large umbrella genre that is “Bass Music” these days anyway. 50 minutes of incredible music, a large chunk of which was made by the man himself, with near flawless mixing ability, mixtape 008 sits beautifully alongside our more recent mixes whilst still holding it’s own as an individual. I’ve been addicted to this mix for the last 3 days now, listening to it non-stop.

For those that don’t know of Hackman and his work, have a listen and get to know. For those of us that do know, enjoy!
